DAY 1 CAPE TOWN
Table Mountain, Cape Town
Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to hotel.  Remainder of day at leisure.

DAY 2 CAPE TOWN
Half Day morning Table Mountain and Cape Town City Tour (excluding cost of cableway ticket).  Take Cable car (weather permitting) to top of Table Mountain.  Descend and see the Malay Quarter, city centre, and Company Gardens.  Visit Castle of Good Hope (time permitting) and Diamond Works.  Afternoon at leisure. DAY 3 CAPE TOWN
Full day at leisure.  Cape Town, the oldest city in South Africa, is spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain.  Between beautiful Cape Dutch homesteads, traditional dancers with painted faces performing in the streets, the smell of spicy Malay cooking and the taste of a well-made wine, this city will fill your senses.

DAY 4 CAPE TOWN
Full Day tour to the Cape Peninsula, visit Hout Bay, ½ hour Duiker Island boat trip (optional, for own account & time permitting), Chapman’s Peak (if open), Cape Point Nature Reserve.  Return to Cape Town via Penguins (optional, for own account), Simon’s Town, Fish Hoek, Muizenberg and Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens. DAY 5 CAPE TOWN
A full day at leisure.  Perhaps enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Winelands or simply explore the city.  Although a small city, Cape Town is packed with sightseeing attractions, excellent bars, cafes and restaurants as well as colorful craft markets.  There is also the Two Oceans Aquarium, Robben Island or alternatively relax on one of Cape Town’s many beaches.

DAY 1 WED WINDHOEK – NAMIB DESERT (unguided)
Depart early afternoon via scenic Spreetshoogte Pass and Solitaire to a comfortable lodge bordering the scenic Namib landscape.  Overnight Namib Desert. [D]

DAY 2 THURS SOSSUSVELI
Early morning Soussusvlei excursion.  Climb the world’s highest sand dunes.  Visit rugged Sesriem Canyon.  Return to lodge for lunch.  Afternoon nature drive (drinks for own account).  Overnight Namib Desert. [FB]

DAY 3 FRI NAMIB DESERT – SWAKOPMUND (unguided)
After breakfast, travel via Kuiseb Canyon to Swakopmund.  Arrive at midday at central pension / guesthouse.  Overnight in Swakopmund. [B]

DAY 4 SAT SWAKOPMUND (unguided)
Explore Swakopmund and enjoy some of the many optional activities (for own account).  Visit to the aquarium, museum, or crystal gallery.  Join the Living Desert Tour or a guided tour to the township Mondesa.  Meet fellow travelers and guide for dinner.  Overnight in Swakopmund. [BD]

DAY 5 SUN SWAKOPMUND – DAMARALAND
Depart early towards Henties bay.  See the Rock Art and the Organ Pipes at Twyfelfontein.  Lunch pack en route.  Arrive at remote lodge in Damaraland in the late afternoon for 2 overnights.  [DB+LP]

DAY 6 MON DAMARALAND
Optional morning guided hiking trail.  Lunch.  Afternoon sundowner drive in the Aba Huab River and possibly encounter the desert dwelling elephants (seasonal). [FB]

DAY 7 TUE DAMARALAND – ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK {Community Visit}
Depart Damaraland.  Visit a Himba village near Kamanjab and learn more about this semi-nomadic people.  A guided tour to this village allows an insight into today’s way of life of the OvaHimba people; their ancient traditions and beliefs combined with the influence of “civilization”.  Income generated through visitors helps to sustain this tribe and support the many orphaned or abandoned children, enabling them to grow up in the self-conscious spirit of their ancestors as well as to receive school education to face the challenges of the future. In the afternoon undertake your first game drive in Etosha.  Overnight near Etosha National Park. [BD]

DAY 8 WED ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
Full day in the Park, exploring the various waterholes along this vast saltpan.  Overnight near Etosha National Park. [BD]

DAY 9 THURS ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

DAY 10 FRI ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK – WINDHOEK

Enjoy the exciting unpredictability of an early-morning game drive with a professional ranger whose eyes will spot memorable moments ...a leopard sitting on a rock licking his paws ...the black rhino with attitude ...the watchful elephant, bigger than you ever imagined ...a pride of lions relaxing in the shade ...grazing zebras forming patterns in the grass ...the wild dogs in their den ...giraffes, the lookout towers of the bush. The Madikwe Game Reserve has a vast diversity of birds with over 300 species recorded so. If you prefer, a sunset game drive is the best time to enjoy rush hour at the water hole.

Experienced rangers working with trackers to find game and who are also qualified to offer you a walk should you wish to do that. Etali have an established infrastructure that will provide back up in case of any power failure with Safe T paramedics on call 24 hours of the day.

There are scheduled flights with Federal Air from ORT (Oliver Thambo International Airport - Johannesburg) to the Madikwe Game Reserve. The flights depart ORT at 10h00 or 13h00 and flight time is approximately 55 minutes. On return, flights depart the Madikwe Game Reserve to ORT at 11h30 or 14h30.
