Shiraz & Sauvignon Blanc Weekend
It’s time for the very popular Shiraz & Arts Weekend in Riebeek Valley on 2 & 3 October 2010.
This intimate and tasteful weekend has been bringing discerning wine, art & food lovers to the beautiful Riebeek Valley since 2005.
This year the arts on offer will expand to include performing arts, along with the usual quality exhibitions of paintings, sculptures and photography held at wine cellars, restaurants and galleries.

The Durbanville Wine Valley signals the start of white wine season with a jubilant week-end long celebration of extreme fun.
This year sees the return of the popular Durbanville Sauvignon Wine Ferry, taking to the air on Saturday, October 2nd for an adventure of fine wines and brilliant views in a fleet of helicopters.
Participating Farms include Altydgedacht, Bloemendal, D’Aria, De Grendel, De Vallei, Diemersdal, Durbanville Hills, Hillcrest, Klein Roosboom, Meerendal and NitÃda.

Flights and the future of jet fuel
Sasol on Tuesday said the development of a synthetic jet fuel means the local aviation market will not have to depend on global oil reserves any longer.
The company made history on Tuesday by flying the first-ever commercial airliner powered solely by synthetic jet fuel from Johannesburg to Cape Town. The fuel is made from coal rather than crude oil and burns cleaner than current petroleum-based jet fuels.
Speaking through the PA system on the Boeing 737 used for the maiden flight Sasol’s Paul Morgan said research into this technology started almost 20 years ago. They have turned coal into liquid fuel but never before taken jet fuel from coal and used it in a commercial airline. It is great to see Sasol being leaders again!
