Singita Game Reserve, Kruger National Park

Like the Lebombo Euphorbia tree after which it was named, the design of Lebombo Lodge is one of a kind. From the sweeping wooden decks, you can watch the theatre that unfolds before you, while the lap pool beckons to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. The fifteen suites feature contemporary finishes with beds dressed with Egyptian cotton and silky-soft throws. Enjoy dinner in the boma, then spend the evening, if you so wish, sleeping under the stars on the bed of your private terrace.

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Rhino Month

September was declared Rhino Month by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in South Africa, and the response has been phenomenal.

Rhino Month will culminate on Rhino Day on the 22 September @ 13h00PM, when all South Africans are urged to take to the streets and make as much noise as they can to show support for the fight against poaching.

At Road Travel we make use of reserves, lodges and camps that are dedicated to the fight against poaching and preserving a vanishing way of life.

Selecting Accommodation

When it comes to selecting accommodation venues for our clients stay, we at Road Travel give first preference to those venues that we have seen and stayed at, placed clients with and the tourism grading standard.

The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA) is an organization that ensures the standard of quality accommodation and conference venues throughout South Africa. Through its star grading system, the TGCSA provides a framework and process for the grading of accommodation establishments. Great news is that the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa will implement its improved accommodation grading system from October 2010.

In addition to assuring holidaymakers of a comfortable stay whenever they book into a professionally assessed, star-graded establishment, the new grading criteria will also mean improved consumer protection.

To improve accommodation-grading standards, all TGCSA assessors are being re-trained and will assess properties using the same set of statistically weighted evaluation criteria.

Road Travel work with suppliers that have been evaluated and graded, and therefore offer clients the peace of mind knowing they will get the best.

We provide South Africa accommodation reservations from character hotels to luxurious game lodges. Our hand picked selections of properties are chosen for their superb locations, value for money and excellent service.
As we work with these establishments on a contract basis, the discounts we get are passed on to our clients.

Tell us what type of accommodation you require and we can arrange a quality and enjoyable place to stay that meets all your needs.

Why it may just be a good idea to consider making use of the services of a tour operator like Road Travel

The convenience of technology and the World Wide Web has definitely influenced the travel industry, particularly with regards to how trips are being planned and booked. As with anything in life, there are both ups and downs to trying to plan your trip online without the assistance of someone “on the other side”.

Obviously, the most important aspect of a tour to southern Africa is the planning, and that is why it is ever so handy to have someone like Road Travel on your side, someone with knowledge and experience of the places you want to visit.

What a lot of travelers don’t know is that the FIT (“Fully Inclusive Tour” or “Flexible Individual Travel”) tour option is the most cost-effective way to experience Southern Africa. It is all your choice, you choose the type of vehicle hire, the standard of accommodation, the time of year to visit, which regions, how long, and you choose the itinerary that meets with your own specific requirements.

Firstly, as accredited southern African inbound tour operator, our knowledge of the properties, geographic areas, logistics, road infrastructure and what is available (sights, services, etc.) are expertise worth benefiting from.

Road Travel provides a personalized, fully inclusive service. We offer you professional assistance throughout your trip and not just prior to your arrival. There are ‘hidden’ services with obvious benefits, such as us confirming your safe arrivals and departures with the accommodation and service providers, just another part of our “24hr assistance” service. The safety and sensibility is genuinely worth factoring in.

Regarding the local communities and responsible tourism, when using Road Travel you know that the money you spend here stays in the country.

Road Travel is in a better position to offer discount rates due to specially negotiated contracts with service providers, and you also enjoy the financial benefit of making payments to just one company instead of having to pay each supplier individually.

So next time you start planning your trip to southern Africa, consider benefiting from our expertise, services and discount rates.
